As a born adventurer with persistent curiosity—and a former senior solo backpacker—Carrie began taking tourism seriously during her master's studies at the University of Waterloo. Her research centered on a single inquiry: how a travel experience reshapes people's life perspectives.
This academic grounding led to a project-based research role at Resonance Consultancy, where she analyzed Chinese outbound traveler preferences through data-driven research, with a focus on the European hotel sector. While her career later leaned toward marketing, tourism remained core to her work. Over the past decade, she has supported boutique travel agencies, wineries, destination management organizations, and outlet shopping malls on brand consulting and branding projects, serving clients across China and North America.
Her experience spans top media, an accommodation technology startup, and most recently, a global marketing agency. This combination broadened her practice: a deep understanding of tourism and audience behavior, paired with hands-on knowledge of evolving digital strategies—regardless of platform: TikTok, Meta, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, Weibo, Bilibili, or influencer-led campaigns.
